Allotments thefts

Postby AlanB on 28 Oct 2013, 09:48

A number of sheds were broken into overnight on Friday 25th Oct. In the weeks prior to this there have been individual break-ins with tools and machinery taken, vandalism and litter left by youths drinking/smoking, pilfering of produce etc.

If you have been affected please inform the police by ringing 101. Unless you do so the police will continue to treat it as a low priority because the full scale of the problem is not appreciated.

Likewise please report anything suspicious. The allotments are not a right of way. Continued problems are likely to result in a call for increased security and strict enforcement of the "allotment holders only" rule.

It is always a good idea to get a serial number when you phone in, that way you can refer to your previous conversation with the call centre and have a record of your complaint.

It's an even better idea to have the police walking about. Perhaps instead of phoning they can contact Mr Walker as he claims he sees the police in the village daily.
