Stay Registered to Vote

Postby IanG on 06 Aug 2014, 13:16

I expect that I am not alone in having received a letter from MSDC inviting me to "stay registered to vote". There will be a lot of elections next Spring so it's important to ensure that we are all registered and do vote. The easiest way is to go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote (you need your Nat. Ins. number). If you are in any doubt about being able to get to the Polling Station next May - apply for a Postal Vote. That will guarantee you a say in the WPC, MSDC, WSCC and Parliamentary elections next year.

The letter I have says that the closing date is the 8th August.

The invitation to vote I understand carried a threat of a penalty of £80 if you do not do as they ask.

However, there are some who received a letter a couple of weeks ago saying that we do not need to do anything. Oddly though, our son, resident as the same address had the letter that IanG received.
